The world is changing everyday, every moment at a rapid pace making available emerging digital technologies that continue to make it easier to connect regions that were once in the past disconnected from the rest of the globe. These disconnected communities comprised of ecosystems that nurtured small-scale communities of limited civilization living within their own worlds enclosed in small community shells deprived of information and knowledge about the outer world they were a part of.

The European Commission has released a study about the economic impact of Free/Libre or Open Source Software (FLOSS) on the European ICT sector.
It was prepared by a consortium of research institutions led by UNU-MERIT's Rishab Aiyer Ghosh.
Looking at the impact of FLOSS on European competitiveness in ICTs, the study finds that such software is of great importance to the digital industry in Europe and several other parts of the world.
It has already reached considerable market share in several fields, including web servers and operating systems. A large share of public and private sector organisations use at least some FLOSS.

Seeking Partners for Local OCI NOVOSTI projects

Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in Cultural Fusion and/or Oci Novosti.

We're now seeking partners to develop local Oci Novosti magazine projects.

The idea we're inviting input and feedback on is for a contest to introduce the project. Oci Novosti means Eyes News which is community, regional, national or even international news seen through the eyes of artists. The contest involves finding an image that would be regarded as or represents a problem in the community and then frame some part of it to find or create an image of beauty.

Part of the challenge for technology decision-makers in a Web2.0 era is that innovation is progressing faster than can be tracked.

The principle criticism of the trend centres on the fact that the technological progress of the Internet is permanently in motion, it's a continual effort by a huge number of people in a bewildering array of areas, and so to claim land and title over it with a marketing idea is not well received by many.

I thought a useful way to begin posting articles to iFOSSF is to introduce and provide some context for the organisation, and for the strategic programs and projects that provides a framework for the activities and how you can get involved.

Dear iFOSSF Community Members,

First , I would like to thank you all for the wonderful response and feedback extended to us on the occasion of the beta launch of the iFOSSF Official Website. We have used the Drupal Content Management System framework for deploying and managing the iFOSSF Online Platform that gives us both the tools and flexibility to manage community development and relationship management with our stakeholders.
